पश्चिम चंपारण: 12 साल में ही जर्जर हुआ करोड़ों का पुल, सरिए हुए बेनकाब — प्रशासन हादसे का इंतजार कर रहा है?

पश्चिम चंपारण जिले के नरकटियागंज में बलोर नदी पर बना पुल महज 12 साल की उम्र में ही खस्ताहाल हो चुका है। वर्ष 2014 में करोड़ों रुपये की लागत से निर्मित यह पुल अब जर्जर अवस्था में पहुंच गया है। पुल के पिलरों का कंक्रीट जगह-जगह से उखड़ चुका है और अंदर से सरिए बाहर झांकते नजर आ रहे हैं, जो इस पुल की दयनीय स्थिति को बयां करते हैं।
स्थानीय निवासियों का कहना है कि इस पुल से प्रतिदिन सैकड़ों वाहन और हजारों लोग गुजरते हैं। पुल की बिगड़ती हालत को देखकर लोगों में दहशत है, लेकिन मजबूरी में उन्हें इसी पुल का उपयोग करना पड़ रहा है क्योंकि कोई वैकल्पिक मार्ग उपलब्ध नहीं है। ग्रामीणों ने कई बार संबंधित विभाग और जिला प्रशासन को इस खतरनाक स्थिति से अवगत कराया है, लेकिन अब तक कोई ठोस कदम नहीं उठाया गया है।
सवाल यह उठता है कि आखिर 12 साल में ही यह पुल इतना जर्जर कैसे हो गया? क्या निर्माण के दौरान घटिया सामग्री का इस्तेमाल किया गया था? विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि यदि निर्माण में मानक सामग्री का उपयोग किया गया होता तो एक पुल को कम से कम 50 से 100 साल तक टिकाऊ रहना चाहिए था।
इस मामले में न तो संबंधित निर्माण एजेंसी के खिलाफ कोई जांच हुई और न ही पुल की मरम्मत के लिए कोई बजट आवंटित किया गया है। स्थानीय लोगों का आरोप है कि प्रशासन किसी बड़े हादसे का इंतजार कर रहा है। यदि समय रहते इस पुल की मरम्मत या पुनर्निर्माण नहीं हुआ, तो कोई बड़ी दुर्घटना हो सकती है।
जिला प्रशासन और संबंधित विभाग से इस मामले में तत्काल संज्ञान लेने और पुल की सुरक्षा जांच कराने की मांग जोर पकड़ रही है।
A bridge built over the Balor river in Narkatiaganj, West Champaran district of Bihar, has fallen into a severely dilapidated condition within just 12 years of its construction. The bridge, constructed in 2014 at a cost of crores of rupees, now shows alarming signs of structural failure — concrete on its pillars has crumbled away, and iron rods (rebar) are visibly protruding out, raising serious safety concerns.
Local residents report that hundreds of vehicles and thousands of people use this bridge daily, with no alternative route available. Despite repeated complaints to the district administration and concerned departments, no concrete action has been taken to repair or inspect the structure.
Experts point out that a properly constructed bridge should last at least 50 to 100 years, raising serious questions about the quality of materials and construction practices used when the bridge was built. No inquiry has been initiated against the construction agency responsible, nor has any repair budget been allocated.
Residents allege that the administration is waiting for a major accident before acting. Demands are growing for immediate structural inspection and either urgent repair or reconstruction of the bridge before a tragedy strikes.
