तेहरान/पटना: ईरान सरकार ने मशहूर लेखक सलमान रुश्दी पर हुए चाकू हमले में किसी भी प्रकार की संलिप्तता से साफ इनकार किया है। ईरानी अधिकारियों ने कहा कि इस हमले से उनका कोई लेना-देना नहीं है और इस घटना की जिम्मेदारी उनके देश पर नहीं डाली जानी चाहिए।
गौरतलब है कि विश्व प्रसिद्ध लेखक सलमान रुश्दी पर अमेरिका में एक साहित्यिक कार्यक्रम के दौरान एक व्यक्ति ने चाकू से हमला किया था। इस हमले में रुश्दी गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए थे और उन्हें तत्काल अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। हमलावर को मौके पर ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया।
सलमान रुश्दी अपनी विवादास्पद पुस्तक 'द सैटेनिक वर्सेज' के कारण दशकों से ईरान के निशाने पर रहे हैं। 1989 में ईरान के तत्कालीन सर्वोच्च नेता अयातुल्लाह खुमैनी ने रुश्दी के खिलाफ फतवा जारी किया था और उनकी हत्या के लिए इनाम की घोषणा की थी। तब से रुश्दी कड़ी सुरक्षा में जीवन बिता रहे थे।
इस हमले के बाद दुनिया भर में ईरान पर संदेह की उंगलियां उठने लगी थीं, जिसे देखते हुए ईरान ने आधिकारिक बयान जारी कर अपनी किसी भी भूमिका को नकार दिया। ईरानी विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता ने कहा कि इस हमले के लिए केवल रुश्दी और उनके समर्थक जिम्मेदार हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने इस्लाम की भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाई थी।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय ने इस हमले की कड़ी निंदा की है और अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता की रक्षा का आह्वान किया है। फिलहाल अमेरिकी जांच एजेंसियां इस मामले की गहन जांच कर रही हैं।

Rushdie has long been a target of Iranian ire due to his controversial novel 'The Satanic Verses.' In 1989, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa calling for Rushdie's death and announced a bounty on his head, forcing the author to live under heavy security for decades.
Following the attack, suspicion quickly fell on Iran, prompting the Iranian Foreign Ministry to issue an official denial. A spokesperson stated that Rushdie and his supporters bore responsibility for offending Islamic sentiments.
