बिहार के हाजीपुर में आर्थिक अपराध इकाई (EOU) ने नगर परिषद के अकाउंटेंट मनीष कुमार के विभिन्न ठिकानों पर बड़ी छापेमारी की है। इस कार्रवाई में अधिकारी यह देखकर हैरान रह गए कि एक साधारण प्यून से अकाउंटेंट बने इस शख्स ने किस तरह करोड़ों रुपये की संपत्ति खड़ी कर ली।
ईओयू की टीम ने जब मनीष कुमार के ठिकानों की तलाशी ली तो वहां से 2 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक मूल्य का भव्य बंगला सामने आया। इसके अलावा एक महंगी थार गाड़ी, लाखों रुपये की कीमती ज्वेलरी और कई महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज भी बरामद किए गए हैं। जांच अधिकारियों के अनुसार, यह संपत्ति उनकी ज्ञात आय के स्रोतों से कहीं अधिक है।
सूत्रों के अनुसार, मनीष कुमार ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत एक साधारण प्यून के रूप में की थी और धीरे-धीरे वे नगर परिषद में अकाउंटेंट के पद तक पहुंचे। इस पद का लाभ उठाते हुए उन पर सरकारी धन के दुरुपयोग और भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगाए जा रहे हैं।
आर्थिक अपराध इकाई की यह कार्रवाई बिहार में सरकारी कर्मचारियों के भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ चल रहे अभियान का हिस्सा मानी जा रही है। जांच एजेंसी अब यह पता लगाने में जुटी है कि मनीष कुमार ने इतनी बड़ी संपत्ति किस प्रकार अर्जित की और क्या इसमें अन्य लोगों की भी संलिप्तता है।
बरामद दस्तावेजों की जांच की जा रही है और आने वाले दिनों में और बड़े खुलासे होने की संभावना है। EOU के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि मामले की गहन जांच जारी है और जल्द ही कानूनी कार्रवाई अमल में लाई जाएगी। हाजीपुर नगर परिषद में इस खुलासे के बाद हड़कंप मच गया है।

During the searches, investigators discovered a bungalow valued at over Rs 2 crore, a high-end Thar SUV, jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, and several important documents. Officials expressed shock at the scale of wealth accumulated by someone who reportedly started his career as a peon before rising to the position of accountant.
The EOU is now investigating how Manish Kumar amassed such disproportionate assets and whether other individuals were involved in the alleged financial irregularities. The recovered documents are being examined and are expected to reveal further details about the case.
