नई दिल्ली/पटना: प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) ने बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री जैकलीन फर्नांडेज को धन शोधन (मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग) के एक बड़े मामले में औपचारिक रूप से आरोपी घोषित किया है। यह मामला कथित ठग सुकेश चंद्रशेखर से जुड़े करोड़ों रुपये की अवैध लेनदेन से संबंधित है।
ईडी की जांच में सामने आया है कि जैकलीन फर्नांडेज को सुकेश चंद्रशेखर से कथित तौर पर महंगे उपहार और बड़ी रकम मिली थी। सुकेश पर दिल्ली की तिहाड़ जेल में बंद रहते हुए भी करोड़ों रुपये की ठगी करने का आरोप है।
प्रवर्तन निदेशालय ने इस मामले में चार्जशीट दाखिल करते हुए अभिनेत्री का नाम आरोपियों की सूची में शामिल किया है। एजेंसी के अनुसार, अभिनेत्री को दिए गए उपहारों और नकदी को अपराध की आय (proceeds of crime) माना जा रहा है, जो मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग निवारण अधिनियम (पीएमएलए) के तहत दंडनीय अपराध है।
जैकलीन फर्नांडेज इससे पहले भी इस मामले में ईडी के समक्ष पूछताछ के लिए उपस्थित हो चुकी हैं और उन्हें लुकआउट नोटिस भी जारी किया गया था। हालांकि, अभिनेत्री के वकीलों ने आरोपों को निराधार बताते हुए उनका खंडन किया है।
इस मामले ने बॉलीवुड और राजनीतिक हलकों में हलचल मचा दी है। ईडी लगातार इस मामले की जांच कर रही है और अन्य संदिग्धों से भी पूछताछ जारी है। अदालत में अगली सुनवाई में इस मामले की दिशा और स्पष्ट होने की उम्मीद है।
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has formally named Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused in a high-profile money laundering case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
According to the ED, Jacqueline allegedly received expensive gifts and large sums of money from Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is accused of running a multi-crore extortion and fraud racket even while lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. The agency has filed a chargesheet naming the actress, classifying the gifts and cash received as 'proceeds of crime' under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Jacqueline had previously appeared before the ED for questioning and was also issued a lookout notice. Her legal team has denied the allegations, calling them baseless. The case continues to draw significant attention from both the entertainment industry and legal circles, with further court proceedings expected to shed more light on the matter. The ED maintains that investigations are still ongoing.
